"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream" C.S. Lewis.

I've had a passion for wood all of my life, but only recently felt the guiding hand of my grandfather, Master Cabinetmaker at Gillows, on my shoulder.

Leaving an office job during the pandemic, I found my calling working with my hands, wielding chainsaws to transform tree stumps into sculptures.

My varied designs are inspired by local flora and fauna near my home town of Watlington, and continue to evolve. My best work is in cedar, pine and other soft sustainably-sourced woods, which I obtain from friendly tree surgeons. I also have a few favourite saw mills when I require a specific piece of wood for a commission.

Testimonials

Yvon, Netherlands

"Hector Jr. is lightening up our front door, welcoming our guests now for more than a year and we get a lot of positive feedback about him (he does behave very well I must say).

Andrew is an artist! He makes beautiful wooden sculptures, rough, natural and warm."

Jackie, East Sussex

"When I met Andrew carving at Bentley Wood Fair I was immediately drawn to the beautiful and realistic apple core. I had to buy it! It now sits pride of place in my dining room and is a great topic of discussion."

Iain & Fi, Perthshire

“ We have followed Andrew on Instagram for a while and recently commissioned an Aberdeen Angus Cow. We sent him images and he's done a cracking job. She's been named 'The Duchess' and is much admired by family and friends.”

Suzanne, East Sussex

“ So so beautiful. When I gave it to my mother, she was absolutely enchanted with it and said that she felt like crying. She is not one to be emotional like that and definitely testament to your beautiful work. Thank you so much for your care and attention to detail. She will always treasure it.”
